Australian Steam Loc 6029 in Blue Mountains

Loc 6029, Australia’s largest operating steam locomotive hauls an excursion train across the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

The route forms part of the “Main Western Line", the only direct option for trains travelling from the Sydney area to central western New South Wales.

The line between Penrith & Lithgow originally opened between 1867 and 1869, and is now solely used for excursions such as these.
