From Bitterfeld to Berlin

This cab ride was recorded from an ICE-T (series 411) en route from Fulda to Frankfurt a / d Main airport. Both cities are located in the state of Hesse. This section is one of the busiest routes in Germany and, due to the low track speed, it will be relieved in the coming years by the construction of a high-speed route. The speed limit here is now 160 km p/ h, but also less in certain parts.

From Fulda to Frankfurt Airport

This short cab ride with an ICE4 (series 412) shows what an investment in high-speed railway lines can achieve. The 120 kilometres long route between Erfurt in Thuringia and Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt used to take just under an hour. Today it only takes up to 33 minutes. Erfurt- Halle with an ICE 4

This cab ride takes you with an ICE 1 (series 401) between the Thuringian capital Erfurt south to the Bavarian metropolis of Nuremberg. The ICE (=InterCity Express) 1 is a German high-speed train and is the first generation of ICEs built. On the high-speed line through the Thuringian Forest, the train reaches a top speed of 280 km/h. From Erfurt to Nürnberg (ICE 1)

This cab ride will, take us from the Bavarian capital M&uuml;nchen to N&uuml;rnberg. The newest Highspeed train of the DB ( The German Railways), the ICE 4 or class 412, will continue to Hamburg in North Germany. The line between M&uuml;nchen and Ingolstadt is a so called &lsquo;ausbaustrecke&rsquo; (an upgraded line) and between Ingolstadt and N&uuml;rnberg a &lsquo;neubaustrecke&rsquo; (a new highspeed line).
