The Railways of the Somme Bay
A fest of metre and standard gauge steam at the tri annual Baie de Somme steam festival (Fête de la Vapeur) in France. This event attracts steam lovers from all over Europe and the 2003 & 2006 editions can now be seen here at 24Trains.tv!
This metre gauge railway runs in two directions from the mainline station at Noyelle in the North of France, close to the English Channel and not too far from Calais. The line to Le Crotoy is metre gauge while the line to St Valery is dual standard and metre gauge, very unique! The little used St Valery - Cayeux section is metre gauge only.
A lot of beautiful, restored metre gauge steam locomotives can be seen, besides some normal gauge steam locomotives. Enjoy these films, which were originally only available on DVD, here at 24Trains.tv!
