German electrical locomotive class 181 in action

The BR 181 was a German electric locomotive which was delivered to the German Railways (DB) by Krupp work in Essen. This type of locomotive was equipped for two voltages for driving in Germany, Luxembourg and France. The first locomotives of the class 181.2 were painted blue accordingly in 1974 and handed over to the DB. Later they were painted red. The 25 locomotives are now out of service, but during their active service they mainly run passenger trains between Germany and Luxembourg and France. In this series we see the locomotives in the twilight of their existence in 2014.
