Freight trains at German Praest

Praest, a German village, is located on the so-called “Hollandstrecke,” the railroad line Oberhausen - Emmerich that continues to Arnhem in the Netherlands. It is an important rail link, which has been in operation since 1856 with a lot of freight traffic.

Since the connection of the Betuweroute (Rotterdam-German border), freight transport has only increased and work is underway on a third track between Oberhausen and the Dutch border. This two-part series filmed the multifaceted freight traffic.
