Class 1141 from the Austrian Railways

The electric locomotives class 1141 of the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB were delivered in the years 1955-58. Thirty locomotives were supplied by a combination of different companies, such as AEG, BBC, ELIN, SSW, SGP.They were mainly used for express train traffic on the western railway line, the Westbahn, and the southern railway line, the Südbahn. Over time, they were replaced by the 1042 series.

The 1141s were last stationed in Attnang-Puchheim.

In 2003, all locomotives of this series were taken out of service by the ÖBB. Some locmotives, the 1141.019, 021, 022 and 024 have been preserved as nostalgic locomotives.

This two-part series shows footages made from 1991 to 2002. There are also some shots taken when these locomotives was already in museum service in 2006.

You can see shots from the cabin on the Salzkammergut Railway, around Selzthal and on the Semmering.

A beautiful varied film with many varied footages shot in summer and winter.
