Restoration of the Swiss Trans Europe Express (RAe TEE II)

In 1961, Swiss Railways took five RAe TEE II electric multiple units in service which could run under four different power systems.

These electric trainsets mainly ran the Trans Europa Express (TEE) services between Paris and Milan, Milan - Basel and later also in the TEE service to Brussels.

In 1999 the sets were all decommissioned and scrapped, except 1. The trainset that was preserved (number 1053) was restored in 2012. In this 4-part series we see the extensive restoration of this train set.
