The Deutsche Bahn, the German railways, is realizing the Stuttgart-Ulm railway project in the southwestern state of Baden-W&uuml;rttemberg. The project consists of two sub-projects, namely Stuttgart 21 and a new high-speed line Wendlingen-Ulm.
The construction project is the largest railway project in Baden-W&uuml;rttemberg since the 19th century.

The first ICE was traveling between Wendlingen and Ulm. For the first time, the flagship of Deutsche Bahn has traveled over the new Wendlingen–Ulm route. The journey with the advanced TrainLab, a special ICE train operated by DB, served to train train drivers.
The advanced TrainLab is one of two Deutsche Bahn test trains for testing new technologies in rail transport. Building and testing

Deutsche Bahn is testing the overhead wire and rail on the new Wendlingen&ndash;Ulm line. During the high-speed journeys, the train drivers gradually reach a speed of 275 km/h with the ICE-S from DB Systemtechnik. The maximum speed of 250 km/h, which will apply in the future for passenger traffic, will be exceeded by ten percent during the high-speed trains in order to put the route through its paces.
