In this series, three special railway lines are explored in the Catalan part of Spain and France. The journey starts with the famous yellow train (Le Petit Train Jaune) on the French side of the Pyrenees. In the second episode the journey takes place with the 'Train Rouge' (the red train), which goes from Rivesaltes to Axat also in France. The third and fourth episodes take you through the scenic N&uacute;ria Valley on a cog railway, where you can enjoy a fascinating journey through a tranquil valley on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. Le Train Jaune & Rouge

Climb aboard &lsquo;Le Petit Train Jaune&rsquo;, the charming yellow train that travels through the French Pyrenees. This 63 kilometer narrow gauge line connects Villefranche-de-Conflent with Latour-de-Carol and reaches a height of 1,593 meters at Bolqu&egrave;re-Eyne, the highest train station in France. The route passes through 19 tunnels and over impressive viaducts, including a unique suspension bridge. Enjoy the breathtaking landscape. Le Petit Train Jaune: A Railway Adventure in the French Pyrenees

Le &lsquo;Train Rouge&rsquo; (The Red Train) runs between Rivesaltes and Axat on the northern side of the Pyrenees in France. The railway line follows the Agly and Maury rivers and the train passes through a varied and interesting landscape. In 1878 &lsquo;La Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi et du Canal lat&eacute;ral &agrave; la Garonne&rsquo; began building a railway line in the Eastern Pyrenees to connect Carcassonne with Perpignan which was completed in 1904. Nuria

The N&uacute;ria Rack Railway is located in the Pyrenees mountains in the north Catalonian region of Spain, it was opened in 1931 to serve the Vall de N&uacute;ria mountain resort, it is the highest rack railway in Southern Europe rising more than 1,000 metres over its 12.4 km length, starting from Ribes Enlla&ccedil;, adjacent to the Renfe station on the Barcelona-Puigcerd&agrave; railway line and finishing at N&uacute;ria (altitude 1,964 metres). Vall de Núria Cog Railway

Enjoy this cab ride of the N&uacute;ria Rack Railway. The first 5.5 kilometers of the line is operated as a conventional adhesion railway with the remainder of the line operating as a rack railway using the Abt system. The maximum gradient is 15% and the track gauge is 1000 mm. With the camera mounted on the front of the train this video covers the complete return trip back from Ribes de Freser to Nuria, showing the spectacular views usually only the train driver gets to see.
