This exclusive series showcases modern and museum trains in South America. Trains in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru were filmed and divided in three parts. The footage is made in 1998 and 2008 and a total of 4 hours of film material was selected.
Steam trains can be seen that have been put under steam in museum service, but modern train traffic is also depicted. The last section shows the railway from Cusco, in the Andes, to Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is one of the world's most beautiful train journeys.
