Chasing the Norfolk and Western 611 steam locomotive
In this video, we see an iconic American steam locomotive: the Norfolk and Western 611, also known as the "Spirit of Roanoke" or the "Queen of Steam." This is the only running steam locomotive from the series "J" 4-8 -4 "Northern" which was built at the Roanoke plant in Virginia, USA in May 1950. The steam locomotive has only served 9 years with the Norfolk and Western Railroad Company. We see this steam locomotive in this video in action between Roanoke and Walton.
