Episode 3: Digitizing Fleischmann Krupp crane

This video shows, step by step, how to convert a Fleischmann Krupp crane from manual control to a digital control that you can operate remotely from your control panel. The DCC decoder is an ESU Lok pilot V.4, but most locomotive decoders are suitable for this.

The 3 drive motors cost just a few euros on AliExpress. The relays for controlling the motors should be as small as possible as space is limited. The smallest relays who make contact are suitable for this and only cost a few euros. To gain more space, the wind drums in the hood can be ground off on the inside, this is not visible from the outside.

Connecting the motors to the decoder is a choice. In this video they are operated with an Ecos 2 from ESU. Feature mapping was used. It is possible to convert this crane at very low costs, but of course you have to be a little handy: good luck!
