Episode 2: Eizan Electric Railway
This privately-operated railway runs from Demachiyangi in north-east Kyoto northwards to Kurama and Yase Hieizanguchi with a junction for both destinations at Takaragaike. The Railway operates 2-car trains towards Kurama and single car trains to Hieizanguchi.
During the autumn, special maple leaf viewing trains operate to Kurama. The highlights are a 'Maple Tree Tunnel' between Ichihara and Ninose stations as well as Kurama Temple and Mount Hiei.
