A new type of train at the NS: the DD-IRM

In 1994, a new type of train entered service at the NS (Dutch Railways), namely the Double-decker inter-regional trains, abbreviated as the DD-IRM. These trains were built by Talbot in Aachen, Germany. Later, they were all lengthened and were given the abbreviation VIRM (Verlengd Interregio Materieel).

In this NS film from 1994, the construction of these trains can be seen and some of the designers have their say.

Dutch spoken.
