Irish Peat Railways - Part 1
In Part 1, we start at Derrinlough Briquette Factory on the Boora system. The briquettes were sold for domestic fuel. We move to the Blackwater system which includes Shannonbridge Power Station and extensive bogs, visit the smaller Attymon Peat Co-operative which used very traditional methods and equipment and finish with a visit to Bord na Mona’s Ballivor system.
