Part 3: in the direction Tharandt
In the third part of the series we drive from the central station towards Freital and Tharandter Rampe. Until June 2001, BR234s were still in IR traffic on this route until the short delivery of the ICE TD met. It was also the time of the BR 156's last runs at DB Cargo. The four locomotives were mostly used for freight trains to Freiberg and Zwickau. In this part it is now also steaming, because we drive through Freital-Hainsberg, the starting point of the Weisseritztalbahn. Until the end of 2002, the connecting track to the wagon workshop in Potschappel was still located between Freital-Potschappel and Freital-Hainsberg. The narrow gauge or three-track track disappeared with the reconstruction of the rail systems after the flood in 2002. The film shows both the regular operation and scenes of the special journeys at the end of 2002.
