Santa Fe - Bluebonnets And Kodachromes in the Midwest

This film features the Santa Fe Railroad Company in four locations in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois in the United States. The video footage was shot in 1988 and 1989 and includes older footage of the railroad as it was in the 1940s as well.

The first location we see is Holliday Junction, west of Kansas City in Shawnee, Kansas. From there we head east to Marceline, Missouri. Then we continue east to see trains on Edelstein Hill west of Chillicothe, Illinois. The film ends in Chillicothe, where we see freight trains stopping to change crews and Amtrak's Southwest Chief stopping for passengers.

This film is a great look back at the Santa Fe railway in the Midwest as it was in the late eighties.
