Steam tram Hoorn - Medemblik
In the summer of 2023, 24Trains.tv was invited to film at the Museum Steam Tram Hoorn-Medemblik, abbreviated as SHM.
In the film, which you can only watch at 24Trains.tv, we take you through the history of this special museum company that has existed since 1968. SHM uses the local railway line in North Holland between Hoorn and Medemblik, which opened in 1887. On this line they use historic steam tram equipment for tourist service. Not only the rolling stock, but also the entourage of the line contributes to the historic character of the tram service.
SHM's home base is the former goods and shunting yard at Hoorn station, which also has a restored workshop.
This film is a good preparation for a visit, because you will feel even more excited to visit SHM yourself!
