For years, Deutsche Bahn has followed the construction of the new highspeed railway line Wendlingen–Ulm with a camera: tunnelling, bridging, rail welding – every step is shown.

What moves the people behind the construction project now that it is complete? Brains, sweat and rails were necessary to build the new pacemaker for the train and a main railway link in the German rail network in about ten years.

This documentary takes viewers to the third highest railway bridge in Germany and to dark places in the mountain where no human has ever been before.
