SNCF year overviews of 1971 - 1973
At the beginning of the seventies the SNCF (the French Railways) sad goodbye to steam traction (1971) and did research to new types of trains: from the RTG (high-speed, gas turbine trains) to the first prototypes of the TGV (1973) which became the proud of the French Railways seven years later.
