Serbia is not well-known for its trains, although it has beautiful railway lines. The Belgrade-Bar (in Montenegro) railway line is for example considered one of the most beautiful railway lines in Europe. This series shows you in several episodes a diverse picture of the railways in Serbia.

Trainspotting

The Šargan Eight (in Serbian: Šarganska osmica) is a narrow-gauge heritage railway in Serbia, running from the village of Mokra Gora to Šargan Vitasi station. Once part of the Belgrade-Sarajevo narrow-gauge railway line, this part was restored in the summer of 2003. The track gauge is the so called 'Bosnian gauge'of 760 mm. Sargan's Eight

In this episode the three depots of Belgrade are shown: Topčider and Zemun depots for passenger trains and Maki&scaron; for freight. The last one has also the biggest shunting yard in the Balkans, but unfortunately these days there is less freight traffic. The video gives an unique inside of places where you can&rsquo;t get in easily, but 24Trains.tv got permission and thus can share these unique footages. A compilation of trains in Serbia -2021

In this video we spot trains on the recently rebuilt Belgrade-Novi Sad (-Budapest) railway line in Serbia, at the Kamendin station. The line has been made suitable for a speed of 200 kilometres per hour in a certain section. 
You will see, among others, 'Flirts' and 'KISS' double-deckers both built by the Swiss Stadler. The &lsquo;Beovoz&rsquo; suburban trains were also filmed. They were built by RVR in Riga, Latvia, then the Soviet Union. Credits: Fabian Vendrig

Cab rides

This video contains a cab ride from Vršac, close to the Romanian border, and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The first minutes gives an impression of the train ride from Belgrade to Vršac, afterwards the cab ride follows. The train is a diesel train, class 711, constructed by Metrowagonmash from Russia. The last of the 27 sets ordered by the Serbian Railways was delivered in 2016. The speed of the video of the cab ride part was set faster and some parts were cut out to keep this video attractive. Through Vojvodina : Vršac - Belgrade

The Belgrade-Bar railway is one of the most beautiful railways in Europe. The railway came into service in 1976 and was the pride of the then still existing Yugoslavia. In this cab ride you ride with the driver from the Topčider station (now closed as of October 2021) in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia to Užice halfway through the Serbian section of this beautiful railway. Camera images in the cab alternate with images from a camera mounted on the locomotive. Enjoy the beautiful nature!
