The famous Glacier Express in Switserland is special as it is, but since March 2019 the 'slowest high-speed train in the world' can be experienced in an even more beautiful, comfortable and luxurious way, with the new Excellence Class of the Rhaetian Railway and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.
24Trains.tv spent a week in Switserland to experience the Excellence Class in a snowy landscape. As always, 24Trains.tv pays attention to more than just the train. Matching the level of luxury of the Excellence Class, we spend the night in top level hotels in St. Moritz (Schweizerhof), Zermatt (Zermatterhof) and Andermatt (Radission Blu). Apart from that we go skiing, we visit the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, we take a ride on the Gornergrat Bahn and we travel by train to Göschenen and Locarno.
